The directing counsel consists of one manager from each major sport and tennis. During the past year they were Luella Schloemer, Volleyball, Mildred Kauper, Baseball, Ina Brainerd and Delores Lodes, Track, 'Mildred Weinand, Tennis. This short review gives the winners in our contests. The track meet in the spring of 1932 was won by the sophomores. The winner of the 1932 ten- nis tournament was Blanche Ritger, with Florence Wiskerchen as runner-up. The freshmen girls were victorious in the baseball tournament, and the juniors, for the second consecutive year, won the basketball championship. The volleyball teams this year were class teams instead of color teams. This season the number of points required to receive a UW. B. was cut from sixteen hundred to twelve hundred points. THE BEND The Carl Pick Trophies The Carl Pick Trophies, which have been renewed every year since 1928, were presented this year at the Rotary-Kiwanis banquet. It has been the custom to give five awards. The large cup is awarded to the best indi- vidual all-around athlete, and the four smaller cups go to the best individu- al athletes in each of the major sports: football, basketball, baseball, and track. This selection is made each year by a committee of two members of the Alumni Association, two members of the Student Activity Association, and two faculty members.
