Class History In August 1961, 40 young bright-eyed students entered into a new world, at West Badin High School. With Mrs. B. T. Graham as our advisor, we looked forward to a very exciting Freshman Year. We elected as class officers -- President -- William Cato; Vice President -- Steve McLendon; Secretary -- Kave S tovall: Assistant Secre¬ tary -- Barbara Hough and Treasurer Lawrence Guine. The most thrilling event of the year was the N, H.A. Ball. K e Stovall was crowned Miss N.H. A. As we advanced into our Sophomore Year, we had lost some of our classmates, but we gained new ones in their places. This year our competent leaders were: President -- Alonzo Coley; Vice President -- Stevie McLendon; Secretary -- Dorothy Henderson; Assistant Secretary -- Gussie Washington and Treasurer -- Lawrence Guine. Barbara Hough was Miss Homecoming attendant. In the Fall of 63 we met again, this time as Jiving Juniors. Our capable leaders were: Nancy Bennett -- President; Kaye Stovall. -- Vice President; Secretary -- Dorothy Henderson; Assistant Secretary -- Gussie Washington; and Treasurer -- Billie Harris. In the second semester, William Cato, Nancy Bennett, Barbara Hough, Gussie Wash¬ ington, Kaye Stovall, Dorothy Henderson and Macy Hinson were initiated into the Crown Scepter Honor Society. Above all our Junior Year was very enjoyable and our time was spent wisely. At last came that happy day when 26 proud, anxious looking students enrolled in the Senior Class. They were seeking the finality of teachings and instructions at West Badin High School. Still under the guidance of Mrs. B. T. Graham we chose as our officers President -- William Cato; Vice President -- Macy Hinson; Secretary -- Gussie Washington; Assistant Secretary -- Barbara Hough and treasurer -- Billie Ann Harris. Last but not least, the most important thing to take place was the graduation exercise in June. Motto: ' A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
