OUR SCHOOLDAY5 - 'In life's early morning, A In manhood's firm pride, S33 Let this be your motto - Your footsteps to guldeg I7 W In storm and in sunshine, 5 E Whatever assail, We'll onward and conquer ,Y 5 And never say faill' Q ' with somewhat the sentiment expressed in these inspirational , lines, forty of us enrolled in W. B. H. S. in IQQQ. However, N some of our enthusiasm dimmed quickly, for only thirty-six com- pleted that first climb to the station called 'Sophomore.' - The following fall, we trudged once again to the halls of W. B. H. S. and started toward the. gleaming sum it called 'Juniors.' Some of the lights enticing us ever onward were the class play, nGone with the G1rls,' baseball, basketball, music, and just the urge itself to climb ever higher. In May of lQSl, thirty-two of us were named 'Juniors.' Ah, our next year was an unforgettable one, for twenty-eight of us found it highlighted by a victorious class tourney, a d s- tinct stage success in 'Miss Jimmy,' and a gala night When we were the hosts to the Class of 1952 for the Junior-Senior Recep- tion in Spring Mill Inn. And then quite suddenly our friends called us 'Seniors.' And now, twenty-five of us are nearing the su mit called Graduation! But as we near our cherished goal, we are aware that as we have traveled we have learned this great lesson: To a true Amerlean, a goal once attained quickly moves higher and becomes a beacon light urging us upward to a steeper and yet more enticing pathway just ahead. So, we the members af the Class of 1953, pledge to our Alma Mater that our future is only beginning, for we shall ever strive to fulfill the famous words of Madeline Bridges: 'For life is a mirror of king and slave, 'Tis just what you are and do. Then give the world the best that you have, And the best will come back to you.'
