Chick Monning Gary Pittmon Jim Groninger Tom Jones Dave Shepard Jeff Egolf Mickey Wypych Tom Fisher When the State Tournament came, the Hawks, greatly outsized, lost to a tall Geneva team in their first game of the Regional Tournament. The score was 63 to 50. Led by Captain Dennis Siebert at center, the starting five usually consisted of Gary Munn and Tom Trotter at forwards and Bob Rea and Tom Young at the guard positions. Important replacements were Chick Manning, Mike Heim, Dick Green, and Jim Groninger. The Junior Varsity coached by Arnie Verbic showed great potential as they compiled the fantastic record of 13 wins with only 1 loss.
