The 178 returning sophomores looked a lot more confident as they came back to continue their education. Looking in on a class meeting one day, I observed the capable officers and cabinet busily planning some event. Dean Guzeman was elected president: Doug Hill, vice-president: Tom Blair, secretary: and Burdette Enger, treasurer. Eleanor Larson, Joanne Krentz, Rita Gilson, and Doree Farley completed the cabinet. The sophomores were assisted by their advisers: Miss Lydia Raymond, head adviser: Miss Helen Wood, counselor: Miss Oleda Rislow, Miss Mildred Spangler: Miss Merry Cpfiey: and Mr. Charles Friday. The Sophs showed that they were ambitious, for they participated credit- ably in many activities. The entire Fresh-Soph cheer-leading team was com- posed of sophomores. Carol Hyman, captain: Jean Bridgeford, Janice Knapp, Joan McCrea, and Regina Wozniak were the pepper-uppers. The Springtime Swing , held March 12, was decorated by' many of the sophs, and other class members helped plan the dance to make it a big success. lDean Guzeman suggested the namel. PAGE 24
