The great times spent together. We ll shed some tears, no doubt. But he never had the chance To come and laugh aloud. He never had the chance to be A senior — strong and proud. The times that we spent with him Are memories from the past. Those memories are so precious. We hope they'll always last. When we say “We miss him.” It's from deep inside our hearts. We sadly remember the very day When God tore us apart. The news was horribly shocking. It struck us to the ground. To think that such a close friend Would never be around. The hurting faded slowly And a scar was left behind. But the crying starts once more When his face comes to our minds. So please never forget him He remembers all of us here. Though we cannot see nor hear him, his presence is always near. I hope he knows he’s still a part of our Class of '84. We dedicate our yearbook and give our love ... To Steve — forever more. 1980 Nadine Cozzo Class of 1984 CHRIS ALBRECHT - Sportsman Club President 2. Parkway West Teen (Cook 'Chef). Student Council at A M Tech 3.4. Days of Our Lives Swinging Seniors Are Allan and company Senior Week actually began the weekend before when Seniors struggled with cardboard trees, paper leaves and various wild birds and animals to decorate the hall. Senior Week was enjoyed by all students who dressed up for Punk Day, Backwards Day, Scum Day, His and Her Day, and finally Red and Gray Day. The Thursday before Senior Night, the Bonfire was a success and boosted the already high spirits. The Pep Assembly on Friday was filled with Senior Pride as Seniors got psyched for the game against Ambridge. Happy Senior parents were honored as well as Band Members, Football Players and Cheerleaders. As sentimental feelings disappeared, the air filled with excitement. The game began and the Seniors took the field for the last time. Beware of the swamp in Senior Hall! The last four games of the Victory season showed the Indians as a very competitive team. Two of the highlights of the season included Eric Shotp’s 44 yard field goal, a school record, to tie Center with no time left on the clock; and Vince Carter's fumble recovery and return for a touchdown against Black hawk to lead the Indians to a victory. The Indians rolled to the best record in the school’s history, featuring two WPIAL playoff games. One of the Indians’ strengths was their tenacious defense which limited opponents to 48.3 points per game. The quick hands of Vince Carter and Randy Wilson led to many fast break baskets for the Indians. Gary Zakutney kept defenses honest with his side shooting, while Tim Mullen and Scott Minor led the team in scoring and rebounding from the inside. Student spirit and enthusiasm played a great part in the success of the team, as home games featured some packed stands at WA. Senior Night Jump Ball Earl Shoup, Jr. and wife. The passion and courage it takes to be there, the spirit of freedom alive in the air. Whenever the running man awakes to challenge the glory, he knows that he can turn the key once more to unlock the soul. The way becomes clearer the way is complete, the need that of winning admits no defeat. The circles together hold hands to the sky, the freedom of running, the freedom to fly. Let no man surround himself with pain, but use it to free him. The game is to learn to live again. A try to the end, a race to the end. Vince lead the processional Alma Mater, West Allegheny, Scarlet and gray are true. To thee, we raise our loyal voices. To echo a lifetime through. Thy guiding hand and spirit Has kept our love for thee. The hours and days that were spent here Will linger through the years. 165 Senior Academic Michelle DeGrosky — John Philip Sousa Award.
