Foreword In the past two decades tremendous strides have been made in the American way of life. It is difficult to imagine life without television, kitchens without all the electrical gadgets that make life comfortable, airplanes that fly only one hundred miles per hour. In education, also, there has been a change. Our fund of knowledge has quadrupled in the last few years. The next decades promise that it will double or triple again. One can only conjecture what a modern secondary school will be like in 1986. If education keeps pace with the progress promised elsewhere, the high school of the future will bear no resemblance to the high school of '66. In many ways, West Allegheny was typical of a high school in the sixties. Lest we forget in the future, the staff presents this pictorial ac- count of the school year 1965-66.
