EIGHTH GRADE CLASS OFFICERS President: Tom Karns Vice President: Ellen Whitehead Treasurer: Sharon Menchhofer Secretary: Herb Smith Reporter: Don Eby Y The eighth 9YXiSlo grade class of decjas ficers helped us 2 ghtv 613 through the year very much X This year along with the two seventh grades we put on a minstrel show which went off very nicely We have decided to have a party or a dance with the proceeds The eighth grade did all right in sports this year. We had several boys in each sport. The Jr. High basketball team was beaten by Lewis- burg in the tournament which was a bad break for the boys. They hope to do better next year. The girls ofour class were elected as.the Jr. High Cheerleaders. They were: Sherry Robbins, Nancy Fahrenholz, Karen Vogue, and Sharon Menchofer. Eugene Haney did not have his picture taken because he joined our class later in the year. Lonnie Zwies1er's picture was not taken because he was absent that day. 30

SEVENTH GRADES Class 7-1 has had a good time this year with our subjects: math, gym, English, geography, and literature. Most of us take music and art. We had our first class meeting in September of 1953. We elected officers for the coming year. They are as fol- lows: President, Robert Hack, Vice President, Charlene Phillipsg Secretary, Vivian Brunsg Treasurer, Kenneth Stammang Reporters, Wesley Brock and Marilyn Meyer, Student Council, Tommy Miller and Joyce Bellows. Our treasurer, Kenneth Stammen, moved. Our new treasurer is Mike Koeller, Our director is Mrs. McClellan. This school year the seventh grade got off to a fine start. All of us are taking math, geography, English and spelling, literature, and physical education. Many of us are taking additional courses such as music and art. The seventh grades went together and elected class officers, so they could do things together as one class instead of two. We have representatives for the West Alexandria Junior High reserve basketball squad. They are: Douglas Bowman, Frank Ferguson, James Jellison, Mike Koeller, and James Poppas. 32
