We were Y given things to do. That night they gave us a party. This is a tradition that all Sophomores give the new Fresh- man class. Next year we get our fun. The subjects we have this year are: English, algebra or math, home economics or agriculture, science, general business, gym, and a choice of art, band, or chorus. We have two new pupils in our room. They are Jean Linderman and Paul Hofacker. Our total enrollment is now 44. At Christmas time we exchanged names and pupils received gifts. We decided on having class dues of 10gt per month. We are very happy that four boys from our room made the first five on the Jr. High basketball team. They are: Ronnie Riege, Fred Brower, Bill Riley, and Tom Jones. There were also six boys that played football. They were: Ronnie Riege, Tom Jones, Bill Riley, Jim Babington, Ralph Simmons, and Marvin Whited. We are really enjoying our first year of high school life, as we are kept busy with our school work, athletic events, school parties and dances. This concludes the Freshman History. EIGHTH GRADE CLASS OFFICERS President: Tom Karns Vice President: Ellen Whitehead Treasurer: Sharon Menchhofer Secretary: Herb Smith Reporter: Don Eby Y The eighth 9YXiSlo grade class of decjas ficers helped us 2 ghtv 613 through the year very much X This year along with the two seventh grades we put on a minstrel show which went off very nicely We have decided to have a party or a dance with the proceeds The eighth grade did all right in sports this year. We had several boys in each sport. The Jr. High basketball team was beaten by Lewis- burg in the tournament which was a bad break for the boys. They hope to do better next year. The girls ofour class were elected as.the Jr. High Cheerleaders. They were: Sherry Robbins, Nancy Fahrenholz, Karen Vogue, and Sharon Menchofer. Eugene Haney did not have his picture taken because he joined our class later in the year. Lonnie Zwies1er's picture was not taken because he was absent that day. 30
