Slualeni G 'Z rlrst Row left to right Elizabeth Gllbert Myrna Fox Earla Mae Mlller Bobble Chambers Ruth Kuhbander Marllyn Fahrenholz Second Row left to right Merun McKee George Wmkelman Fred Habekost Denme M11ler Danny Bullock Thlrd Row left to rlght Mr Dlehl Ml Qlayman Loran Albert Sam Morthland MISS Mertz Mr Sprmkle The Student Council organization was started this year for the first time in West Alexandria Schools The purpose of the Student Council is to more closely unite the faculty and students and the community Also it helps in solving some of the problems which may arise in school according to the number in the class The Student Council is composed of I7 students and 4 faculty members The first meeting took place on September i9 l946 At this meeting we elected officers They are as follows Charles Graham President Loren Storer Vice President Myrna Fox Secretary and Elizabeth Gilbert Treas urer After electing officers the next procedure was to draw up the consti tution of the Student Council During the year an Athletic Council was elected and dates were set for class parties Penalties were set for those not paying their class dues and two new amendments were added to the Constitution The members of the Student Council gain valuable experience in govern ment and help to promote a feeling of goodwill and self discipline within the student body Elizabeth Gilbert , .
