We hope that in years to come you, too, will find this record a pleasant souvenir. The Class of '58 2 APPRECIATIO X ,,,.A I 533 To you, Mr. Rodger Hazen, we the class of 1958, are proud and happy to dedicate this edition of the Bul1dog. As our former Class Advisor, you helped us select our class rings, directed our magazine sale, and gave us assistance in the biggest project of our Junior year - the Prom. This year you acted as our sponsor for the One Act Play Contest. Because of your patience as our mathematics instructor, many students understand better the importance of math in future careers. Your pleasant disposition has made you a friend of all the students here at Wesleyville. For all these things we thank you. 3 I Supervising Principal William B. McKee Congratulations Seniors: When you leave home to come to school, there are several routes you may choose. One or two probably being the most direct, or shortest. Other routes may be longer, but easier. or even more interesting, There is also the rare occasion you started on one of the routes, but something drew you further, and you never arrived. This holds true in setting out to reach your goal in life. You have more than one way to travel toward that goal, The route itself is not so important, even changing your goal to another may be good, The important thing, is to have a goal and know the ways you may take to N reach it, with honor, self-respect, and satisfaction. Even if you are on the right track you may be run over if you just XA sit there. AX Best wishes, X l U X W. B. Wesleyville 6 7 7 0 - 20 NorthEast 67 07 -20 Sept. 26 - Wesleyville went to Cambridge Springs to play their third straight night game of the season with the Edinboro Turtles and emerged with the first win of the season, 6-0. ln the lst Quarter Tom Klomp's block of an Edinboro punt and good line play kept Edinboro from gaining much ground. Wesleyville scored the only TD oi the game in the 2nd period when they took a poor Turtle punt on their own 44. Going in short consistent gains, the Bulldogs marched the 56 yards to paydirt with ' .wr-wfawsawswqi-A Gary Gam plunging the last yard. McDevitt's kick was wide. Edinboro threatened in the 3rd Quarter by recovering a fumble on Wesleyvilles 11-yard line. But the Bulldogs held on the 4. Joe McDevitt's punts helped keep Edinboro back from the Bulldogs goal-line. Wesleyville 0 6 0 0 - 6 Edinboro 0 0 0 O - 0 Oct. 4-Wesleyville played its first home game of the season and lost to Lawrence Park 12-0. All summer long both groups of Cheerleaders practiced so that when fall came they would be prepared for the first football game on September 13 This year there were new members added to both squads which added much to the school spirit and helped lead our Bulldogs on to victory. The Cheerleaders sold pop and eandy during the fall and participated in the Backwards Assembly in February. Many other Assemblies were planned by the Cheerleaders to encourage the students to support their team. Mrs. Patricia Brown was our advisor during football season and part of bas- ketball season. Keeping the bulletin board and other displays up to dare are also some of their tasks. This year the Library Club was host to the Lawrence Park Library Club at a tureen dinner held February 14. This year as in every other year, a lot of work went into our yearbook, The Bulldog. Many deadlines had to be met and everyone did his part trying to make this edition the best ever. Our Editor-in-Chief, Charles Schneider, did a swell job seeing that deadlines would be met and that every- thing would be in order for the publisher. It was the task of Esther Minor, Literary Editor, to write the Dedication and the group write-ups. John Ziegler must be given credit for the photography work done. All the sports ac- counts were cleverly written by Gary Garn, Sports Editor. Dotty Lou Heller was in charge of Organization and it was her responsibility to see that names were under all pictures. Bob I-lagle, Advertising Manager, saw to it that all yearbook ads and patrons were obtained. Judy Gill had to keep track of the number of yearbooks sold and all of the payments collected. She was Circulation Man- ager. Our Art Editor this year was Roger Kaberlein. Ethel Faulkner, our Business Manager, was in charge of all money matters. Carol Curry as Copy Editor and her assistants, Patsy Cook and Joyce Black, spent many hours typing all of our copy work. Our special appreciation is given to Miss Hamburger, our advisor, who helped us in many ways so that this Bulldog would be a success. From the beginning, when this yearbook was just an idea, until its publication we have tried our best to in- clude things that would be most interesting to our readers. 53 ADVERTISERS BUD KOONS ATLANTIC SERVICE Buffalo Road and Water Street Service Always JOSEPH B.
