The plans for a house were con- tinued and tho memhers hope that in the near future this project will become a reality. Hot on the heels of the party came a real live fire in Lenny Morrisgs sofa, which caused more consternation than damage. Lenny and Vern Dibble were both instrumental in the elevtiun of Steve Bailey :15 Mayor of Middletown and Boh Brown and Bob Cohen were active in attempts to make Wesleyan known as a university 110mliscriminatory to Negroes.

The Eclm'tics scampcrod away with second place scholastic honors for tho who-knows how many straight years, with only the John Wesley Cluh ahead of them. Fall house parties fea- tured a square dance and a hirdwalk and October 18th was set aside as Parentis Day. The Spring Sing, with groups from Well- esley and Holyoko. the Jihcrs and Cardinals, and Eclecticas own Spooky Sewn and Moon-Muids, was highly regarded. Dave Jen- kins ran the C. B. Committee 011 Freshman Orientation, aided by Terry Hatter and Harvey Lerner in the Senate. Two varsity captains were elected from tho housr for 1952, Bill Tcuchout in soccer and Jim Sailor in squash.
