PREFACE You will not 5nd all of Wesleyan within these covers. If the book went on ad infinitum there would still be but a segment of her here. For what Wesleyan is and does cannot be defined or interpreted by word or picture. It would not be Courage to attempt such an undertaking. At best it would be nebulous in result. Wesleyan is the football field, the fraternity house, the campus green, the laboratory, the classroome-yes, Wes- leyan is a multitude of things. But most of all it is You, and no one individual or group of individuals can adequately tell you who are leaving us, how they feel about your alma mater. Intangibles defy description, but sometimes they can be given concrete expression. That is all we are striving to accomplish hereeno more. Years hence in some cor- ner of this land perhaps you will try to Visualize frater- nity row,, as it looked when covered with snow. If 50, turn to our winter scenes and perhaps your memory will be refreshed. Maybe you will want to see another back go tearing througlf, in the golden era of Wesleyan foot- ball.
