On glancing back over the forewords of all the OLLA PODS of the past twenty years we find this space invariably given up to a sentiment of Be to our faults a little blind, Be to our virtues very kind. Woe to the Editorial Board who trample progressive brogans over such time-honored customs. We of 1914 have tried to make this book, not the usual Wesleyan Annual but a little in advance of any preceding volumes. We have tried to typify in it the New Wesleyan, the N MJ-n college of the old high ideals, of faithful work, and, as the last year has brought, well-earned victory. The book is now in your hands. If in it you see clearly reflected the life among the ivied walls and storied halls which to us in the last three years are become as home and altar, our reward is indeed great. If by imperfection of ours the glorious image is marred, the reproaches of our own loyalty will far outweigh the carpings of probable critics. 7
