Mrs. Fowler, the former Miss Barbara Suggs, came to Puerto Rico in 1956 as the first appointed Director of Wesleyan Academy. She began with 40 students in a church basement and when she stepped down from the position of Director in 1963, Wesleyan had grown to 275 students in their own school buildings. A11 that Mrs. Fowler has done as Director and, since then, as anelementary teacher will never be forgotten by those who know her. It is with respectful pride and great- ful appreciation that we dedicate the 1968 El Bambu to Mrs. Fowler.
