A Wylftrs. Karluzra ?0ufler Mrs. Fowler, the former Miss Barbara Suggs, came to Puerto Rico in 1956 as the first appointed Director of Wesleyan Academy. She began with 40 students in a church basement and when she stepped down from the position of Director in 1963, Wesleyan had grown to 275 students in their own school buildings. A11 that Mrs. Fowler has done as Director and, since then, as anelementary teacher will never be forgotten by those who know her. Alcover - - Elaine Torrens - - Ingrid Marino Joe came to us from Manhattan, New York. His favorite interest is girl watching. He loves hero sandwiches and slimly eggs. Inter American University is where I oe plans to go and become a Math Professor. wp Viva la diferencia . MARILYN ALBERTY The rain in Spain falls mainly on Spaniards without unbrellas. Marilyn, one of our greatest cheerleaders, has a flair for art, and she draws wonderful pictures of her chief interest . . . flowers. Her favorite interest is to travel. ANTHONY ALCOVER Joe FRANCISCO AVILES Down with those turtles, Full speed ahead. Fransisco has a geat love for motorcycles and sport cars but especially airplanes! He He will probably study for Lab. Technician at Gallaudet College in Washington D.C. FLORA CALDERON Live for the present - the future may never come. Has a wild sense of humor behind those brown eyes, but she also has a definite idea about her future. She plans to attend Inter- American University or to go to the States to study and become a psychologist. Her interests basketball, boys and sport cars. JOSE CALDERON Josie If you see a laughing crowd on the bus, chances are very good that you'll find Josie in the thick of it. He's one of the best- natured boys in the senior class. Josie likes girls, cars and sports. He plans to attend the University of Puerto Rico where he'1l study Business Accounting. NELSON CARRASQUILLO If you start doing something - finish it. Nelson is our basketball star, and anyone who has seen him on the court can tell that he has a lot of drive. He likes his steaks medium rare and his girls pretty. He plans to attend the University of Puerto Rico. JOHN CRUZ To live without love is hell, but to love and not be loved is infinitely worse if-N All of us know John by his friendly smile and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone. He likes almost everything, but his special interests are at Pueblo where you can find him anytime. John would like to attend Inter -American University. PATRICIA ANN HILL Missie As long as you keep smiling the world doesn't look that bad. Pat is always on the go. Her pet hobby is volunteering generously , and we never once have seen her when she wasn't being useful to some organization or another. Appropriately enough, she likes sincere, hardworking individuals. Apart from that, her other like is basketball. After Wesleyan fshe's planning to attend Barry Collegej, Pat would like to become a scientist. INGRID MARINO There is a time and place for everything. lngrid's greatest ambition is to go into the science field. This dark-eyed girl with the smiling brown eyes likes small animals, music and people. Most of the time you can find her in Mayaquez . . . wonder why? Her biggest wish is to collect all the class dues on time. 'Pix N Live today as you would if it were your ast one . You only have to look at the twinkle in Bud- dy's blue eyes to tell that he has a wonder- ful sense of humor. He likes sports, cars, whoppers, and girls. After graduation, Bud- dy hopes to attend Georgia Tech and become a Civil Engineer. ,raw Sara has been in Wesleyan Academy for 13 long years. Sara is a great fan of Raphael. She is always talking of Ponco and its Catholic University where she plans to study and become a psychologist. Always seen with Flora and Elaine, Buddy ' My X sf-.RA amz DAVID ROMAN To love is to live . . ., and life is for those who love. David's hobbies are football, and chess. He also likes pizza. History is his favorite class. To be a lawyer is his greatest aspira- tion. We know that he will reach his goal with that grin and easy-going manner. ELIZABETH SURPLESS Betsy I am saved to serve Reading and baby-sitting are Betsy's hobbies. She is quiet and has a kind word for all. Betsy loves rice and beans and chicken. Her plans after May include King's College in New York where she will study nursing. MALVA ELAINE TORRENS Lennie Smi1e now - later on today you won't feel like it Elaine is full of life. Her eyes are light A brown as are her beautiful locks. She loves slumber parties, pizza, clothes and her favorite car is the Corvette. She doesn't have any dislikes, but she frowns on arrogant people. She plans to study foreign languages at Inter-American University. RONNIE WILSON fs HROH.. A Life is to be lived and loved Ronnie is one of our Gold captains. He likes sports, girls, and people. Ron's greatest ambition is to be President of the USA. Lively Mr. Richard Lively came to Wesleyan from North Carolina and Philip Stockin came to us from Houghton, New York. Mr. Lively was coach at Houghton Academy and now has taken on the job as head coach at Wesleyan and is the coach of the Gold team. Mr. Stockin graduated from Houghton College last year and now is the assistant coach at Wesleyan and also the coach of the Blue. Together these men have brought Wesleyan Academy recognition in the field of sports in Puerto Rico.
