My uniforml II Pimcer Girls Although this is the first year for Pioneer Girls in the Academy the organization began two years ago in the Wesleyan Community Church. The girls are directed by Mrs. Barbara Mathes, Miss Lois Buck, and Mrs. Tommie Barnes. At left we see the girls sewing for the Castaner Hospital. Girl Scvufs Troop 302 started this year at Wesleyan Academy under the di- rection of its leader, Mrs. Alice May Torres, and assistant, Mrs. Io Feliciano. The girls have worked hard on badges while at the same time have enjoyed many picnics and outings. The Brownie troop also began this year, with Mrs. Kathy Spain as leader, and meets in the leader s home.

Christian Youth Crusade is one of our organizations in the Academy. Their activities are mainly handcraft, social, and religious education. All these activities are of course Christ Centered. The age limit is approximately from 9 to 12. Miss Case, the sponsor, managed to draft some of our teachers and students to help her keep fifty-five members active continually. Jay Rodriguez, Miss Buck, sponsor, Joe Ahrens, Arturo Alcover, Carmelo La Puerta SUSAN SEGARRA, Editor. Wesleyan Shield s l6'0rr1.f In November the first copy appeared under the direction of Mahlon Cann and sponsored by Miss Buck. The newspaper includes sections on sports art, gossip, and news from the elementary school. We sincerely hope it continues growing and serving the school. The staff includes: fin photograph to the lefty David Roman, Linda Luckey, Griselle Martinez, Yvette Martinez, Marina Valentin, fin backj and Jimmy Rios, Jaime Torrens, Jan Burgess Qfronty and Nancy Collazo Qseatedj.
