Gathering the goods that were contributed by the students for the Christmas project at the student senate dance are Jaime Pena, Lucy Wilson, Anthony Covacevich, and Gilbert Cruz. Q 9 ,P x w. saw G sais fi TLA it at fa X0 expr - Adults Listen Students Have Voices In Decision Making Weslaco High School is one campus where students have a voice in decision making. The Student Senate is the representative body which serves the student body as its voice and vehicle for community service. During the summer senators met with faculty, stylists and parents to recommend dress code revisions, subsequently adopted. They worked long and hard with school and community officials to provide emergency housing when Hurricane Ella threatened. Conventions, elections, dances etc. were also on their activity calendar. The Superintendentis Student Advisory committee was formed of students with a wide range of age, academic achievement, background, personal opinion, and grade as a discussion group to meet with the superintendent in order to strengthen communication between high echelon administration and student. Some ideas discussed in off-the-record sessions were subsequently adopted through regular channels. Student Lifel19
