l Dedication-- We, the 1909-70 La Palma staff, dedicate La Palma to one we dearly love, Mrs. Martha Andersen. Mrs. Andersen gives every free moment to students at WHS. Unlike many teachers, her school work neither begins in September nor ends in May, neither does it begin first period, nor end eighth period. Mrs. Andersen supplements class days by taking students to conferences, conventions, and workshops, attempting to make WHS7s publications the best. Additionally, Mrs. Andersen's face is sometimes seen at assemblies, football games and pep rallies and club meetings as she waits patiently to help student photographers. During the endless hours of photo- graphing each student for his school picture, Mrs. Andersen stands pa- tiently with comb and hair spray in hand, helping students make last minute touch ups. Mrs. Andersen teaches her stu- dents to participate fully in writing, organizing, designing layouts, selling and distributing publications. In addition, there's theory too, as Mrs. Andersen uses world newspapers, television, and sample materials from other schools as living textbooks for ers ens 13 ll tlld t.
