Quintero, QNSQ Slzmnfaleef Qeifea Zfacfeadlancfmq A better understanding of Latin America and improved inter-American relations con- stitute the main goals of the Pan American Student Forum, The Pan American Student Forum programs introduce the members to the customs and history of Latin America by means of informative films and other events prepared by a special committee. Working toward inter-American relations, Weslaco Forum members have undertaken a goodwill project in South America this year. With the aid of CARE, the organization has sent ed- ucational tools such as pencils, crayons, paper, schoolbags, etc. to aid schools in underdeveloped areas in Chile. The local chapter also joins in state PASF activities, The Forum chooses two delegates to attend the state convention in Austin, the representatives being chosen according to loyalty, leadership, and service to the club. PASF also sponsors an intitiation party and an end -of -the -year party. A, McMullen, president. 50 Because Student Senate work is hard and time consuming, only the fittest students are elected mem- bers, The Student Senate undertook a new project, the publishing of a student directory containing the names, phone numbers, and address - es of all students, One of the money making efforts the Senate supports is selling covers for LaPa1ma. The Senate has taken student problems to the administration and brought back good results, With the Senate president presiding, a special com- mittee officiates at all general as- semblies.
