gcwnmencamenlf 19 66 it ,-,--- 1 11 l A The Class of 1966, Barbee Field, May 27 Climaxing four years of achievement, members of the Class of 1966 assembled May 27 at 8 p.m. at Barbee Field for outdoor commencement exercises. Some 160 seniors received diplomas presented by Superintendent Jack A. Frost after formal certification of the class by Principal Howard Murchison Ir. Gerald Streit gave the valedictory, Esteban Salinas the salutatory, and Frances Cain, the address for thehigh ranking girl. William Anderson, class president, gave the invocation, and Andy McMullen, Student Senate president, pronounced the benediction. Honor graduates Qpictured elsewherej were recognized, as were students receiving scholarships to various colleges and universities. Senior choir members sang You'll Never Walk Alone' and Graduation Day , the high school band played the processional and recessional, and just before they left the field, all the class members sang the school song, The Spirit of Weslaco High. Weslaco High School juniors and seniors and their dates enjoy the lovely Grecian Festival at the Junior-Senior Prom. Senzafm 5447047, U QGOZGIL 47e4ZLaaf i:t,A,,,.. Excitement filled the air as the annual Junior-Senior Prom revealed a Grecian Festival theme, March 12, at the McAllen Civic Center. The prom theme featured a Grecian setting. Corinthian white columns flanked the dance floor, and grace- ful white doves hung overhead. A flower-filled fountain in the center of the dance floor, and elegant Greek goddesses completed the classical decorations. Steve Peery was master of cere- monies while seniors witnessed the hilarious, confusing conspiracy of Larry flvlaxwellus Dumbusj Chandler, and his Greek gang: Faustino U ack Snowy Garza, Pat QI-LM., Sr.J Real, Florinda QHelenJ de Leon, Eduardo QSlaveJ Cruz, Susan QGirlJ Hays, and Bruce fSoldierJ Osborn. Following the banquet and floor show, the Keynoters orchestra fur- nished dancing music. siw lr Building the Trojan horse to conquer their enemies are junior boys who participated in the floor show. Entertainment provided by the junior class proved to be most unusual and very amusing. 137
