YQ King: Neil Foos The l98O Homecoming festivities started off with a Spirit Week which consisted of a Hat Day, Overalls Day, Fifties Day, No Match Day, and a Purple and Gold Day. Prizes were awarded to Jay Cline and Sue Sloan for having the best costumes through- out the week. Thursday evening, the Juniors sponsored a taco supper which was followed by a Com- munity Pep Rally. Prizes were awarded to Kristi Welsch, Robert Cloyd, Sean Van Beek, and Nick Okeson, the winners of the grade school Poster Contest. The pep rally was followed by a bonfire. The crowning of the queen took place at half-time of the football game against the Golden Plains Bulldogs. As the theme song Stand By Me was played, Charles Raney brought the candidates to mid-field in his horse-drawn carriage. Stephanie Mote. freshman class candidate was escorted by Nick Kyneri Trina Kyner, sophomore class candidate was escorted by Bryce Walker: Marisela Gutierrez, junior class candidate was escorted by Brian Raney, Jennifer Baehler, senior class candidate was escort- ed by Neil Foos. The attendants were Jill Purvis and Robert Cloyd. Jennifer Baehler was crowned the i980 Homecoming Queen by Neil Foos, the Home- coming King.
