Our cadet is carefully instructed in the handling of deli- cafe scientific equiornent. He is not forced to grope blindly for information. That which is true of the science laboratories is equally true in all othe ' classrooms. Time pastes rapidly in the dassroom or laboratory because the work is interesting. Strict inspection of Quarters is a daily routine Formal inspec tlon of Harlan ' s person, room ond equipment occurs on Sunday morning. At this time unusual care must be taken in cleaning the room. Our Mend sees that hiddon comers are carefully du:fed chairs polished, and everything put in order. Then he takes care of his person. There ' s bross to shine, leather to polish, hair to brush, and whiskers to be removed. A certain time is allotted far this orep-aration and all work must be done within that time. ALISTHENICS play an important roie in the physical education of Cader Hartan. No effort is made to indulge in this or any other eiercise in the early morn- ing hours when the body is at its lowest ebb. AH such exercises are taken by our cadet after a hearty breakfast and monvng classes. The e ercis«s are intended to promote graceful movement as we ' l as better health. The calisthenics used by the United States Army ere followed. They are led by senior cadet officers. So long as the weather permits, tie calisthenics are held in the open, but they are aken in the large gyrmwium where n entire b t+ 1on may talie oart at the same time, when rain or cold ii in me air.
