The Academy was founded by Stephen G. Wentworth, scion of a distingpiithed Enqlith family and a prominent Lexington banlcer. in IB80, as a memorial to hts deceased son. WiHiam Weotworf . Colonel Sellers was called to the new school in its first year and remained as its active head until 1938.
