To attain thij high purpose, the Academy placet greatest emphasis upon these four pofrits: first, it Is the Academy ' s aim to ossemble only the highest type of students — deserving youths of good parentage — to assure v olesome associations and greater progress. Every pre- caution is taken to lieep undesirable boys — all those that might prove dotrimentel to others — out of the Academy. Second, to employ only men of highest character and ability for its faculty. It i not enough for a Wentworth faculty member to be merely a scholar and a splendid instructor. He must also possess a spirit of friendliness and a sincere desire to give kindly help whenever necessary. He must thoroughly understand the innermost problems of boys — be patient with them — and bo ready to serve each boy to the best of his ability. Third, to provfdo the very best equipment throughout every departmerrf to the end that every boy wif have all those things necessary to his health and happiness and the none sha ' t ant for anything that will help him to make progress. Fourth, to provide a program for each day that will best serve ♦he interests of every student WEIVTWOHTH FROM THE Mh No. I. For needy three-score years, Colons ' Sandford Sftlen was president of Wentworth. He enjoyed one of the most enviable reeordi in the history of Amertcan education. The Academy was founded by Stephen G. It was the firm conviction of the founder, his board of trustees and President Sellers that a miTrtary boarding school provides the most effec tive possible neans for giving young men the thorough mental, moral and physical training necessary to develop in them the highest traits ol manhood.
