BOWLING LEAGUE First semester bowling started off very well with forty teams entering the intramural competition. The forty teams were divided into two leagues because of the conflicting schedules, league A bowling at 3:30 while league B bowled at 4:30 on Thursday. At the end of the first semester Lawrence Abrams of MPE-2 had the high average of 110.4 and the high single of 167, while Edward Fillion of MDE-2A had the high triple of 407. The winning team at the end of the first semester was MDE-ZA, runners- up were EEE-2B. At the beginning of the second semester there were ten teams in league A and eight teams in league B. The bowling league offers the students enjoyment, exercise, and a chance to learn sportsmanship. It also allows the students to get to know members of other sections more than would be possible otherwise. FRONT ROW: Potter, Foti, Ewing, Crosbie, Calla, Zymba. SECOND ROW: Barbarino, MacLellan, Whiting, Ward, Abrams, Batista.

Caouette, Jones, Worcester, Bisceglia, THIRD ROW: Mac- A BASEBALL The.1964 Wentworth Institute baseball team closed the season with a record of 5 wins, 7 loses, and 1 tie, which can be labeled a successful record when the caliber of Wentworth's competition is taken into con- sideration. The opening game brought Wentworth an easy whitewashing of Newton junior College, 19-O, an impressive start. However, the team's next win didn't come until four games later, an 18-4 win over the same Newton team. In the meantime, they lost games to the Northeastern Frosh, 6-1, and Harvard junior Varsity, 8-0, and tied Burdett College, 12-12. The nrst half of the season ended with a win over Leicester Junior College, 5-1, in what was the best played game of the season. Wentworth's next encounter was a game with Leicester at the New England Baseball Tournament at Dean junior College. The game ended in Leicester's favor, 7-0. The second half of the season began with four straight loses. The winners of these games with the Black and Gold were Exeter Academy, 5-1, Worcester junior College, 8-7, Leicester, 5-1, and Suffolk Uni- versity, 8-7. The game with Suffolk proved to be the Hnal loss of the year as the Leopards rebounded to close out the season with a 6-5 victory over New Prep. and a shell-shocking of Maine Vocational Tech., 16-1 at Tech's home field in Portland, Maine. At the Awards Day Assembly, George Nyren was presented the Most Valuable Player Award and Dick Prentiss received the Milford W. Babcock Award. The determination of the winners of these awards was extremely hard as many players contributed greatly both as good ballplayers and good sportsmen through- out the year. Although graduation took a large number of letter- men, Coach Wlxittemore should come up with an- other winning combination with the help of a solid nucleus of returning lettermen and some promising freshmen.
