I wa 'L ,-ea Wefeorofogy Our first club meeting, under the supervision of Mr. Harold Rice, found fourteen enthusiasts in at- tendance, a great improvement over last year's mem- bership. The club's activities thus far have been quite varied. There were a number of weeks spent on discussing cloud types and their accompanying weather. Another week was spent on plotting and analyzing fuel degree data for Boston. A complete study of the weather map and its code has helped all of us in understanding the weatherman's short- hand. Charts and diagrams which show various meteorological extremes and averages have been made and displayed in the hall to the main audi- toritun. On various occasions we have had speakers from both the faculty and the outside. Finally, we are now preparing more chartsand lists of extreme aol ol la? of cal weather conditions for New England which will be displayed at open house. Q 206

Wade! -Maude Zzaifcling The Model House Building Club gives its mem- bers a means of expressing ideas and methods of construction by means of scale models. In the club, students design their own plans and carry their thoughts through to the actual building of the model. Under the direction of Mr. Richmond Smith, who assists in many of the problems which the mem- bers encountet, the club has had many outstanding models. Examples of the work done by club members include a 2-story colonial house, a 22 story apartment house, and a radically designed supermarket em- ploying laminated arches. The annual Open House display in the spring will be the focal point of the year's activities. It is hoped that everyone will have the model ready for display. 208 ,tuwllimppv ,M l k l WW all 006 if
