WENTWORTH INSTITUTE 550 HUNTINGTON AVENUE BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS Omcs OF THE PRESIDENT January 14, 1963 To the Graduates: Nearly ten years have passed since I beganmy services as President of Wentworth Institute. During this period, I have observed with pleasure a succession of classes as they entered, improved their talents under the guidance of a competent and dedicated faculty, and left to render an effective service to their God and to their fellow man. It appears to me that those in each succeeding class have graduated with a better prepar- ation for their life's work than their pt edecessors. You, the members of the Class of 1963, have achieved much, and we are 'proud to put our stamp of approval on you as you leave us to enter the world of work and to pursue your education in other institutions of higher learning. You know, as we know, that your graduation from Wentworth is not the culmination of your educational growth. Technical and scientific developments are expanding exponentially, and you will need to continue your education, both formally and informally, in order to keep abreast of the new developments and retain top competence as Engineering or Industrial Technicians. Some of you will establish your own technical businesses or will enter a family enterprise as members of the firm. You will require a business administration education to augment the technical background you have received here in order to function effectively as a manager of a technical enterprise. Some of you will decide to continue your formal education to qualify for professional careers in engineering, education or architecture. No matter what your ultimate goal, you can reach the top only by continuing to study and to grow both through formal and informal programs. We have helped you to build a sound educational base. We are confident that you will build on this base so that you can reach the heights to which you aspire. When you graduate, you will be joining the ranks of thousands of other men who have completed their education at Wentworth and who are members of our Alumni Association. We hope that you will remain loyal to your Alma Mater and a faithful worker in its behalf. You will always be known as a Wentworth Man. We are proud of you!
