JUL CARL WHEELER My ' Assistant Chief The Safety Council of Wentworth has done connnend- able work this year. Conditions were much improved in the halls. classrooms. in the cafeteria. and on the school grounds. Much of the credit belongs to the Safety Council. What is this organization? The Council is a special kind of police. It patrols the school grounds. the halls, the cafeteria. and calls the second and third floors to Chie , , , f lunch. The Council also helps the principal and teachers in every possible way. It gives valuable assistance to the Student Council. Carl Wheeler. the Council Chief. makes the following commentary on the Patrol or Council: LThe Patrol could be made more effective in the halls. in the cafeteria. and on the grounds if the students would realize that they are just as much a Patrol member as the elected officials. ln reality we are all policemen if we obey laws or rules. lf. on the other hand. we disobey rules we become 'criminalsf ln school we are crimi- nals if we run in the halls . . . and violate other rules. In doing these misdeeds we cause others to follow. We should be leaders or good followers. Certainly. we donit want to set a bad example for others to follow. The Safety Council is expected to teach people right from wrong. punishing the ones who deserve it..- The Patrol is composed of a chief. an assistant chief and two other assistants. Eight- een other members bring the total to twenty-two. Eiery member of the Council has been influential. and each has ably per- formed his or her duties.
