The first eight years passed slowly, but we finally became Freshmen. After we became adjusted to being in High School, we learned that we would have to work harder than ever to attain our goals, especially the goal of passing algebra. We worked hard and by the time we were Juniors we were very enthusiastic about the Junior-Senior Banquet, the Junior Play, and also Career Day which took place at Wendell that year. The Juniors and Seniors went to Williamsburg, Virginia, together. Here we in- creased our knowledge of the memorials we had heard so much about, and the trip was filled with fun . Final ly, the big day ! We had attain e done of our goals as we took our seats in the senior classroom, with Mrs. Perry to help us bear our burdens and prod us on when we lag- ged behind. Our trip to Washington, D.C. in April was very wonderful, and one we will always remember. We saw many of the historical spotswe had read about in our history books. Now as the time draws near to say good-bye, it is not quite so easy as we thought, but we shall still endeavor to reach and maintain the highest of goals in whatever phase of life we enter. Memories To Remember There ' s no need to cry, as we say goodbye, Tho ' we hate to leave our dear ole school. We will have these schooldays to remember. For our dear ole school we sing this praise; You ' ve educated us through days. We will have our classmates to remember. The school year ' s end is almost here. And as our departure nears, The laughter we were glad to share. Will echo through the years. When other joys and other fears, May find us gone through coming years We will have these memories to remember. LUCRECE BILISOLY CARL HULL Class Flower Red Rose Look Class Colors MARY KATHRYN PITTMAN Historian Class Poem The time has come for us to say Goodbye to twelve years worth. The happiness, the joy we ' ve shared. The laughter and the mirth. In our hearts will always be The memory of our school. Our teachers and the days of fun, Along with worth-while rules. As we say farewell to classmates dear. And go our separate ways. Ever in our hearts will be The memories of our school days. JULIA JOSEPH Class Motto the best in life, and the best you will receive. Prophecy Each time I prepare a chemical solution, I think of my high school chemistry class and my classmates. It really fascinates me to know you can combine certain elements, and they will reactgiving a new substance with different properties. Yes, each time I see achemical reaction I think of my classmates and how they have made their dreams become realities- changing even as substances entering a chemical reaction do. Eddy Roberts, who wasourclass president, is owner of Roberts ' Turnip Salad Incorporat- ed, in which he has two assistants. Yes, you are right they are blondes! Jeannette Hinnant is now a model at Miami Model ing School in Flordia . She always said she was going to Flordia. Do you remember why? Teaching and coaching back at Wendell High School is Grady Johnson. Now happily married are Mrs. Randy Creech and Mrs. Jack Dean. We knew them as Julia Joseph and Mary Kathryn Pittman. Shelton Raybon is owner of Raybon Candy Company, largest in the South. I always knew he would be a success. Lucrece Bilisoly is now associate editor of the New York Times; hear she ' s making gobs of money ! I heard that Hazeline Lovelace is married and has five children. S he also has her own private lake. Lake Sad. Jarvis Douglasand hiswife are theowners of a drive-in. They say the food is delicious, but he has no neon lights. Wonder why? Ann Raybon is a secretary for her husband in Zebulon. Jeanne Knott is associate professor of English at Meredith College. Charlie Holst is now operating Holst Florist in Wendell. Margie Bunn is head librarian at the Metropolitan Library in New York City. Helping in the high school library was a booster to her success. The last time I heard from Captain Jimmy Hinnant, he was flying jets from Wendell to Greensboro — just like old times. Margaret Medlin is the secretary at Wendell High School, also coach of the girls ' bas- ketball team. I read where they have won the championship for three consecutive years. The most famous recording star now is Carole Martin. Her latest hit is Roll Like A Big Wheel In The Still Of The Night. Dwight Sanderford is now a lawyer with Nell Williams as his secretary. Do you suppose Wendell promoted this? Rebecca Byrd is serving as an airline hostess for Eastern Airl ines. She really enjoys flying since her husband is the pilot. Roger Harris and Billy Perry are both presidents of big chain stores. See. . .it does pay to keep quiet in class after all . Recently I saw a picture of Carl Hull and his wife, a former classmate, honeymooning in the Bermudas. Remember when they got married in the second grade? Allen May is teaching the Art of Pool to anyone willing to learn. Ralph Harris is teaching boxing lessons. Guess he never will forget the night the boy from Corinth-Holder gave him a black eye. I saw Rebecca Ann Alford on television the other day. She is now Home Demonstration Agent for Dare County. Miriam Rose Starnes went to Niagara Falls on her honeymoon. From what 1 have heard she liked it so much that she stayed to operate a motel for honeymooners , On QTXZ radio station every night Bobby Price and Robert Price have a program called the Love, Rock and Laughter Show. They play all kinds of music, especially blues, boogies and bop. Instead of giving commercials between egch record they tell a joke. As for me, Susie Winstead, I had better watch what I am putting in this test tube before I blow up the place. SUSIE WINSTEAD Prophetess Last Will And Testament We, the seniors of Wendell High School, of Wake County, State of North Car- olina, being of sound mind and memory declare this our last will and testament in the manner and form following, hereby revoking all former wills at any time hereto- fore made by us.
