Paul F. Furgeson President B. A., University of Washington We are observing this year the tenth anniversary of Wenatchee lunior College. We are indebted to those whose vision and foresight started the college and also to numerous other citizens who have actively supported it. its steady growth and its acceptance by students have definitely established it as an organized educational institution in North Cen- tral Washington. The reputation of a college is not determined by its size but rather by the extent to which it contributes to the needs of its students. lt is the desire of the faculty to help stu- dents gain the most from their lunior College experience. Students themselves have made a significant contribution through their spirit and de- termination to make Wenatchee lunior College a worthwhile institution. With this attitude on the part of the faculty and students continued progress is assured. l consider it a privilege to be associated with a junior college that offers so much promise for future growth and development as does Wenatchee lunior College. New buildings and facilities are now being planned for the college and it is hoped that they will be a reality in the near future. The next ten years should witness great developments. l am sure that the college life portrayed this year will recall, in years to come, enjoyable and worthwhile days spent in Wenatchee lunior College. My best wishes are extended to every student who has attended the college this year. Paul F. Furgeson, President of Wenatchee lunior College.

l-lelen Van Tassell Dean B.S., MA., University of California Wenatchee Iunior College is proud of the advances made in this the tenth year since its founding. Although the long dreamed of college campus has not yet materialized, con- struction within the college-high school building has given us improved college facilities. A sign over the King Street entrance to the building designates the college Wing. An of- fice suite including a general office, quarters for the publications staffs of the Knight Edi- tion and Weiuco, as Well as an office for the dean and a faculty conference room give both students and faculty a work center. The new biological laboratory and radio studio have made possible an expansion of the curriculum to include additional courses in nursing science and in speech. On the activity side of college life advance has been made also. Besides the usual participation in football, basketball, and skiing we have this year entered competition in tennis, track, debate, and the state junior college music festival. Several new clubs have been formed. Social life has included after-the-game dances in the lounge, several semi- formal and one formal dance, a carnival, as well as sleigh rides, skating parties and picnics. We believe that the year past has been a good year in Wenatchee lunior College and We look forward to further improvement in the college facilities and subject offerings so that this institution may ever better and better serve the needs of North Central Washington. Helen Van Tassell Dean
