There is never a ripple that can be the same forever. Change alone remains eternal. This year Mr. Tom Byrne assumed a new title with chal- lenging responsibilities when he became principal of Wenatchee High School. Replacing him as assistant prin- cipal was Mr. Max Taylor, former counselor. The new counselor was Mr. Ben Graf. Experimentation with unassigned study periods for sen- iors, as Mr. Byrne explained, was designed to help the individual assume more responsibility and to encourage him to use his time for study. Juniors repeated last year's unsupervised honor study halls. Sophomores were assigned to regular supervised study halls. Several new classes were added to the curriculum. These included German, food handler class, clothing technician class, power mechanics, office procedures, electricity and electronics, distributive education for juniors, and second year courses in shorthand and bookkeeping. Most of this planning had already been previously ar- ranged last year, said Mr. Byrne. It is true that the river of time flows on forever. This body of water does, however, follow the mold of the past as it grooves the pattern of the future.
