Although the cross country team didn't score too well at their meets this year, the team had a larger membership of en- thusiastic runners. Each team member ran several miles a day during practice, try- ing to cut down on his running time. By the end of the season, endurance was built up to a peak. Each boy averaged ten miles a day by the end of the season. Some team members accumulated as much as two hundred miles of running dur- ing practice sessions. Races during meets were a min- imum of one and one-half miles to a maximum of three miles in length. Winning teams are the ones which accumulate the least number of points.
