THE SUPERINTENDENTS TYPICAL DAY Arriving at the ottice at eight o'clock each morning, Mr. Smith checks over his business for the day ahead. This business varies daily. A typical day might start, however, in a conference with a grade school, junior high, or high school principal on some school problems. At any time he may be called about some Blossom Festival business as related to schools out ot town. Be- tore his lunch hour he talks with salesmen who want to sell books, supplies, or equipment to the school. lnterviewing teachers who want positions in our schools tor the next year is also the business ot our superintendent. After lunch Mr. Smith receives, reads, and answers large stacks of mail on many different subjects. Answering phone calls from numerous individuals is no small task. Many returning veterans who want advice about reentering school or on plans tor their tuture rely on Mr. Smith. He is also the president ot our lunior College. There is always a school board meeting or some other business in the evening that helps to make Mr. Smith's day a tull one.
