Mr Nugent ever patient was always on hand to help us carry out our plans for activities ln home rooms too our principal often took part in dis cus ions which started with the stu dents ln Main we ve all had a chance to meet Mr Nugent as chief alphabeteor for assigning seats at the first of every semester Among other duties that are routed through Mr Nugents office almost daily are truancy discussions with Mr McLaughlin our attendance of ficer interviews with book sal smen and other businessmen plans which need to be set up for semester sched ules interviews and discussions with parents fa c u 1 t y meetings planned and scheduled weekly gucstions to answer for teachers and students alike about incidents and problems around school All of these things could easily fill Just one typical clay in the life of our principal Mr Nugent Few people realize the magnitude of the job of being the administrative head of a city school system. Mr Smith is recognized by his col leagues and by leading school au ll'1OF1t19S of the northwest as an out standing educator For the past eight years this dy narnic individual with unlimited Vitality and resourc fulness was instrumental in maintaining an efti cient and purposeful educational program as well as inaugurating in 1939 and bringing into successful operation the Wenatchee Iunior Col leg of which he is president As an officer in World War I he realized the need for a naval avia tion training program The com munity and nation are indebted to him for his contribution as co ordi nator for the recently concluded C A A program Wenatchee IS indeed fortunate to have th1s outstanding administrator as the superintetndent of its school system .bfi IAMES NUGENT, Principal Wenatchee Hiqh School A .
