We students have buckled down to work with more pur- pose, realizing that we have a part in this all-out struggle. We have recognized the fact that the maximum effort is needed if victory is to be won. We realize that we can best help by getting as much education as possible, in order that we may be well-trained when we are needed. Our high school offers many opportunities in all fields. At this time, radio, woodshop, and the mechanical classes are being emphasized. These classes help train operators, machinists, and engineers, as do algebra, geometry, physics, and chemistry. Physics, chemistry, and Latin give preparatory edu- cation to future doctors and nurses. Besides their educational factors, biology and agriculture create an interest in home-gardening and conservation. The home economics classes teach the saving of time, money, and energy. The fact that the right foods be included in the diet is greatly stressed. ln the social science classes we learn the causes and conditions of previous wars and of this present war. With this background we understand the situation of today better. The study of Spanish and French indicates an interest in foreign coun- tries. Secretarial classes help supply the need for good secretaries, steno- graphers, and clerks, ln English and public speaking, we learn to express our' selves correctly, to voice our own opinions, and to reason for ourselves. Art, music, and drarnatics add to our en,oyment and cultural development. Civilian defense classes have proved very valuable. A large number cf students have taken this course in preparedness. Yes, we know what we are fighting for is right. We are working for victory! 41 We ff Cl1Ck1fC1OCk Comes Echomq Back We Left 2 cmd 2 Behmd S011 Sc1er1t1sts 104 at Work Worklnq for Future Defense Pastel Portrcnts W4 lust cm TI'1S1d9 Iob The Fcxshlon Lme And Tleen Came War l5xI'I1Cf1CCIT1 Poetry cmd Prose Speed to Bum The bum of the Two Angles 324222 .
