GIRLS BLSKETBLLL The 1945-1,6 girls basketball season was one of great victory. They won 22 games and lost L. They tied one with LeClaire. The girls played at Lost Nation in the County Tournament defeating Calamus and Elwood, but were defeated by Goose Lake in the final game by four points. frlene Dosland was high with 322 points to her credit, Geraldine Hass with 2u2, Darlene Bauer with 166, and Beverly McCoy with 2. There were eighteen girls out for basketball this year. SECTIONLL TOURNAMENT The Sectional Tournament was held at Goose Lake, Welton drawing Elvira for their first game, defeating them 38-9. They played Goose Lake in the finals being defeated 23-27. THE COUNTY PLAY OFF The County Play Off was held at Dewitt, Welton girls had to play Elwood. The girls weretheCounty Champions defeating them 30-18,
