Mother Woods l 2+ ruff just adores going to funerals because she finds them so stimulating. Father Woodruff loves going to fires. Junior Woodruff, their son, is 'mechanically inclined. He can fix anythingfand does! and he . also gets great joy from shooting a rifle. Boots, their daughter, loves to act and is rehearsing a part at the most inapportune times. Lmidst all this confusion, Aunt Cora arrives bringing with her what .turns out to be a pst. l Arlene, the noodruff's adopted daughter, is practically engaged to Homor Hampton Haywood, who V believes in employing high pressure salesmanship 4 I methods. Since Homer, a typical-go-gutter, always, knows more than his employer, he never holds a job , 1, ,if-. , u Ti 3 .k ,K very long. But that doesn't bother him--he goes blitholy on his way inventing 'new ways of making a -fortune. Finally Young Wade wainriaht arrives on the scene and falls a victim to nrlene's charms. when. the self-assured and confident Homer, plunges the entire Woodruff family into grl ef,ar1ene .
