CLASS HISTQRY On August 25, 1941, eighteen bashful and be- wildered students arose from eighth grade to their Honored seats as Freshman in the Welton High School. Their names were! Evelyn Barker Donald Mattke Robert Bauer Betty Lou McClimon Margaret DeLarm Kenneth Simmons Arlene Dosland George Singleman Arla Mae Farwell Shirlie Stender Carroll Flathers Joyce Stier -Shirley Mae Grindrod' Our membership gradually increased from eight- teen to twenty-four. Those who joined us that year Werel Ruth Hansen Doris Galloway Virgil Jacobsen Phyllis Schrader Ruth Chase Leonard Dunlevey The first year was different from anything we had ever done or seen. We thought our life was just beginning. The main event of this year was the initiation given in our honor by the Seniors. that wonderful day we did everything nothing was omitted. The only thing that bothered us was the fact that the Senior Class was so much above us in thoughts. Even though we were Green, Mr. Blanchard nstuck upn for us. Spring came in a hurry and vacation had started. August 29, 1942 Then our Sophomore year came. We were given the sale of pop which we worshipped dearly. During this your wo lost six of our members. Namelyt Hebert Bauer who is farming for his father. Margaret DeLarm is married and living in Clinton. Carroll Flathers works on his fathers farm. Betty Lou McClimon will graduate from St. Mary's in Clinton this year. George Singleman is working on his fathers farm. Toward the latter part of the year Earl Galloway joined us.
