7.7,-4. Z I The Future Teachers of America is the organiza- tion that enables students to find out whether they have the qualifications needed in the teaching pro- fession. They get actual teaching experience by substituting for regular teachers who are absent. In this way the students can earn points for a pin at the end of the year. Three other ways they can earn points are by bringing in tax stamps, by working at the Future Teachers stand in the main hall or by working on the F.T.A. handbook. At Christmas time the club had a banquet at Meade's Restaurant at which former club mem- bers, who are now freshmen at various colleges, were present. They told about life at their colleges.
