After a slow start the team found itself in midseason and showed the fans some spirited, aggressive football The team rolled over Toronto Bridgeport, and Jefferson Unron, and could have easily won three more of their games had rt not been for the uncanny luck of the opposition In the opener of the season, Brookfield won by a lone touchdown which was scored rn the frrst quarter, rt was set up by a blocked punt Our loss to Salem was due chiefly to the fact that penalties stalled the team after rt had driven close to the Salem goal lrne on numerous occasions The third game which could easily have been won was the Lisbon game the final game Wrth the Bengals leading by 4 points and less than 'IO seconds of playing time remaining, the Lisbon quarter back threw a long touchdown pass, thrs promptly snuffed out hopes of a victory PEP CLUB lst Rum Br-rrbar r rhonra-. With a few breaks, the team's record could have easily been 15 wins and 5 losses. The team was led by high scoring Ray Pick Rolley who poured 4l8 markers through the hoops during the regular season and added 54 points in tournament com- petition. An excellent play maker as well as a high scor- er, Rolley fully deserved his All Ohio honors. Paired with Rolley at the other guard was Sid Win- land who led the fast break and was high man in the assists column. The second leading scorer was sophomore sensation Dan Baldwin with 321 points. The offensive punch depended upon the rebounding department, and this role was capably filled by Jack Wellington and Jon Kiggans who were the big men un- der the boards. John Wilkes, who was shelved early in the season because of a leg iniury, was sorely missed by the team, for his rebounding and defensive work was responslbe for much of the team s early success Rich Jackson was call ed upon often to give the team that extra spark which car rued them on towards victory lfellni Q .fuh Mcllevltt N xxlllldlld R Rolley .I lxlccnx R Jxckon J NN Ilmlrtnn Lodch Hedlex andlng Mana ei VN Heltilch I u ui nn um L tutn Manatee: J Jordan . . . .
