They started with the Youngstown North game in September and played at every football game at home and away. After football season, the fight songs and snappy marches were put away for the more refined concert overtures and waltzes. The pre- holiday season was climaxed by a Christmas concert by the band and Glee Club. The spring concert music was practiced each day during the cold winter months and the band again proved a success at the concert and at graduation. The marching band will lose all its majorettes except Verna Erwin. Graduating majorettes are: Bobbie King, Virginia Monte, Sugar TetTt and Don Ilawksworth, drum major. llowever, members of the sophomore and junior classes will capably fill their positions. Mr. Mason is to be commended for his fine job as director. We are proud of that band that represents Wellsville High School. 26
