CLASS HISTORY The year we were called bright-eyed seventh graders was a suc- cessful one. Our first large proiect was our seventh grade play, Don't Call Me Junior, which had a cast made up ot a large number of the class 'members The highlight ol our Seventh Grade Party was the selection of Joan Spargur and Mac Wormley as the King and Queen. 3ane Langdon received the award lor the highest scholastic stand- ing ot the seventh grade. J A When we became eighthgraders we knew we were at lost on our way to becoming upper classmen, as we were no longer the youngest in high school, it was during this year that Anne Flanagan and Gaye McGraw competed with members of the Creative Writers Club and had poems accepted in the National Anthology of High School Poetry magazine. For the highest average of the eighth grade, Judy Metcalf received the Addie Thorton Award. g During ninth grade somegolthe members ot our class took part in the 'Red Mill Operettarln all there were approximately twenty who participated in this verysuccessiul production. Also thaqtyear, the porty,llol which'Sally deem, was run' ning for vice-president of Student Council, lost to the opposing party. During our sophomore year, when the high school orchestra went to Clean, Anne Flanagan received an A rating award lor ci cello solo, as did Jim Gamloell for a violin solo. At the end of this year Pat Roden- rys gained the award for the highest scholastic standing ol the Soph- ornore Class. During our Junior Year the Junior Prom was one ot the highlights. Ronna Siitely was chosen queen of the prom. Our class was the first to make a large profit from this event. Another outstanding proiect of our class that year was our Junior Play, My Sister Eileen. Under the out- standing directorship ol Miss Forsythe, our class promoted a successful production. Also, during our Junior Year, Wayne Gary was chosen President ol Student Council, during a colorful campaign in which Ranno Stiteiy and Fran McCracken were candidates of the opposing party. At the close ot the year, Judyllyietcalf and Jim Gamlsell had the two highest averages at the Junior Class. The first important praiect of our Senior Year was the magazine sale. The top salesmen during this campaign were Bob Word, Jim Giam- bell, Ronnie Ellis, Mac Wormley, Maeneen Dwyer and Mary Clancy. Also, in our senior year our class enacted the play, The Remarkable incident at Carson Corners. This piay displayed the talent of a large percentage ot our class and drew a larger profit than gained from a Senior Play in previous years, Summing up our high school years, we can truthfully say they were happy,ieventlul and successful years, during which many events stand out among our souvenirs.
