PROLOGUE These are the best days .... the days we will always remember with deep feeling and fond affection. These days are filled with learning --not only of factual knowledge but of life as well. We learn how to work together and accomplish our goals. We learn to lose as well as to win. Every moment of life cannot be captured in a yearbook, but through it, memories of Life at Wellston High can be awakened. The 1963 X-Ray, by preserving some of these treasures within its pages and inside a permanent cover, tells us in word that life is Transition. Editors

The halls are darkened, peaceful, still No sign of life or hope And yet above the stillness is an echo Of the Past. Laughter is silenced, hopes are stilled Yet unborn dreams remain And Penetrate the aging, wanting memory Of the Past. The hearts from which the echoes came Will never be whole again, For hidden within these walls A piece of each heart clings To the past. New dreams will come, new voices will call, New hopes will be fulfilled, Only to fade into the slowly changing echo Of the Past. DEDICATION This year the Senior Class wishes to dedicate the 1962-1963 X-Ray to a woman who is well known to all of the students and faculty. She has the respect and admiration of all the students of Wellston High School past and present. She is willing to assist them in their everyday problems.
