'l'he Oranqcmen scored first on a pass from Scherich to Hercules. Scheric-h's plunge for the extra point was good. The second score came when Furioli plunged over from the one yard line. The extra point was not good. RIARTINS FERRY. 27-WHS, lf! September 21WeThe Orangemen traveled to Ohio to play a strong Martins Ferry. Completing a 50 yard march, Caldwell scored on a plunge from the one-yard line after a S12-yard pass from Scherich to Hercules. Scherichs plunge for the extra point was good. Ferry scored in sec- ond quarter to take the lead but the Mooremen came back to take lead on a 68 yard drive that saw Furioli run over from one. Scherichs try for extra point failed. Martins Ferry surged ahead in the second halt. XYEIRTON, 12-W.H.S..il September 28-Jack Moores squad played the strong Red Riders team to a first quarter score- less deadlock. Weirton scored in the sece nd and the third quarters. Wellsburg threatened in the second quarter to score, but XK'eirton's line held. The score remained 12-0 through- out the final quarter. Page Sixty-Five TRIADELPHIA, 7-W.H.S.,6 October 5-Wellsburg played the Little Reds in a sea of mud and a dowmpour of rain. Both teams scored in the fourth quarter. Wel1sburg's score came on a 51 yard drive that was climaxed with a nine yard pass from Scherich to Kemper. WHEELING CENTRAL, 25-W.H.S., 14 October 12-The fans of both sides saw a game that pitted two quarter backs known for their passing. The Orange led 7-6 at the half on a punt return by Marockie, a penalty, a pass from Marockie to Kemper to the two yard line, and Furioli going over from two. Marockie went around end for the extra point. The Orangemen's second score came in the fourth quarter on a series of passes from Marockie to Fox for 15 and to Kemper for 33 yards and Kemper's placement for the extra point was good.
