SENIOR ASS Ill TORY In the fall of 1943 eleven noisy little brats were dragged into the first and second grade room to start their kindergarten year They were Sharon Bevlng, Sandra Frerichs, Ardyth Heinrich, Leland Heinrich, Roger Hippen, Virginia Lindaman, Arnold Nederhoff, Neil OKones, Elinor Peters, Gretta Schaffer, and Charlotte Zech Our teacher was Miss Nikoline Hanson The next fall found us in the same room with the same teacher. This year we were much better acquainted We had gained five noisy little girls who were Glenda Krull, Barbara Meyer, Marilyn Hiller, Janice OKones,and Thelma Ascher who was ntertainment at its best since she couldn't speak much English Although most of us d1dn't notice it we had lost Gretta Schaffer During the second semester we were join ed by Wilma Mudderman In the second grade we had a new teacher Her name was Miss Marjorie Hofmeister, who we soon found out believed in discipline This year we gained four quiet little boys who were Robert Bantz, Hartin Malin, Clarence Murra, and Gary Stoehr It seems one day Bob Bantz couldn't find a place to sit, so he sat on Arnoldlg lunch pail No dinner that day The next fall we trcuped across the hall where we were greeted by Miss Phyllis Bausman There were more new pupils, Vivian Harms and Karen Borem We lost Bob Bantz but not for long as he came back in the second semester along with James Robinson and Charlene Learned Karen Borem couldn't stand us and left The new school year in l9b7 found us in the same room with the same teacher Here we learned that we often needed more than one pencil because if we dropped one we couldn't pick it up until recess. The less ambitious in the group simply brought only one pencil and dropped it at the beginning of class time The gang was the same until the second semester when we lost Wilma Mudderman and gained George Bingena The next year we climbed the stairs to the fifth and sixth grade room Our teacher was Mrs Sally Huisman James Robinson left as soon as school started Things were going pretty good until the last part of the year when we got a different teacher She was slap happy Mrs Stone with her we battled out the rest of the year Eggleston, who we called Miss Pat Ruth Jaspers had Joined the party It was in this grade when our basketball careers began This turned out to be the most enthusiastic coarse offered that year Across the hall to Mrs Doris Ludeman's room We had lost Leland Heinrich and Roger Hippen who were detained in theS1Xth grade This was the year we learned more than we had in all the years before The main reason was our good teacher The other was the fact that we hadn't gotten through our sixth grade books and had to finish them in the seventh The eighth grade was probably the one with the most variety Our first teacher was Hrs Selbsen, who was to teach us until a permanent teacher could be found But by this time the cream of the crop had already been hired as we were to find out when we were introduced to Mrs Coulter She left after the first six weeks without even getting to know our names Our next teacher was Mr Robert White Our class gained one new boy, M we learned of a new Every time you talked the palm of your hand a lot of friends they semester we lost Ruth ichael Mironovlch With Mr White as our teacher use for the yardstick It worked like this you got a mark After school you got slapped on with a yardstick If you had a lot of marks and could take your slaps for you At the end of ihe Jasper and our teacher Mr. White Our teacher In the fall of 1949 we had another new teacher.
