WELLS HIGH SCHOOL J'SZZl.1TZZ'Zf3LZZ,.Z4,JZ'LZiZ'L PH NE 2364 To 1956 The day for which you have wal ted for twelve years is now. You are graduates of an American democratic institution, one of Amerie-a's public schools. For twelve years you have had the friend ship and guidance of parents, teachers, pastors and friends.. There has always been a prop on which you could lean in times of trouble or confusion, there have been many to help you. Now you are young men and women abou fo pursue a new course of life, one in which you, for the first time, perhaps, will be independent entities except for the deep solace of your religious faith. Are you ready for this independency? Have you asked yourselves a few leading questions: What have I done to justify my existence? Have I made my parents proud of me? Have I shown my loyalty to the taxpayers of Southbridge by obeying her laws and by protecting the town's and the citizens' property or have I been merely a nuisance value? Am I taking 'the high road' or 'the lov road' of life? The questions are my final challenge to you. Do each of you dare ask yourself these questions, or are you a bit reluctant? I trust that each member of the class of 1956 will ask these questions, 9-lld if the answer be good, take an increased satisfaction in his diplomag if the answer be bad, learn a very old truth: Do unto others as you would be done by. If each member of the class of 1956 will face himself honestly, he has no need to tear the future. Good luck, '56, and my blessings! 111. 64423, . James M.
