Qjreshman LJi ear We bagan our Freshman year at Wells with two days of initiation. Our officers were Jerome Benoit, president; Dorothy Thanas, vice presi- dent; George Gaudette, treasurer; and Betty Salva, secretary. The main events of our freshman year were The Freshman Frolic and our one act play Sugar and Spice, coached by Miss Flora Tait. Fletcher was the lone Freshman honored by playing in the Webster game. SOPHOMORE YEAR Our win over Bartlett began the events of our sophomore year. The Sophomore Dance and the Pirates of Penzance in which Betty Brosky, Donald Croke, and Paul Sfreddo starred were next on the agenda. Donald Welch was the only so- phomore who played in the Massachusetts Small High School Basketball Tournament won by Wells. Mrs. Chapman directed our one act play, Shock of His Life. The new class officers were Donald Welch, Barbara Michaeles, Jeanne Xanthakos, and George Gaudette. JUNIOR YEAR The Junior Year was highlighted, first, by our win over Bartlett on Thanksgiving Day, 6-0 — The play, Night of January 1 6 th, coached by Mr. Parker featuring lawyers Sfreddo and Croke as well as Judge L ' Heureux — battling over Karen Andre Laakso and Nancy Lee Faulk- ner St. Martin — The Prom, — decorated like the Taj Mahal in India, Ray Stone and his or- chestra providing the music — George Gau- dette, Jeanne Xanthakos, Brian Simpson, and Celine Cantara were our officers. 23
