TOWARD A BETTER LIFE Do you know thatyour bodies are made of some of the same substances that are found in the sun and the other stars ? You are a sample of the great Universe so do not let little things trouble you, but think and act as if you were a part of a bigger world than the little earth upon which you live. I am certain that you of the Class of 1952 have learned during the past four years that you are indeed a part of this great Universe. Your teachers have tried to impress upon you that the individual is of enormous worth in this unsettled world of ours. They have endeavored to teach you the precept of Francis Bacon that the real use of all knowledge is the dedication of that reason which was given us by God for the use and advantage of man. In other words they have emphasized the great truths of life and pointed out the futility of concerning yourselves with petty and trivial ob- jects. The ideal of using your talents for the benefit of man has been stressed under such headings as English, Mathematics, Social Studies or Art. Behind each lesson taught has been the conscious aim of inspiring you to help in the creation of a better life. If you of 1952 will remember these great truths, all my wishes for you must perforce be realized. ( y Principal
