V1 - I v ',- x Wells Alumni Association The NX'ells Alumni Associa- iton has lust completed its Def cennial Year, Having worked arduously during these past ten years. it is now one of the lead- ing high school alumni groups in the city. A reception inaugu- rating its 10th Anniversary was held in june 1945 at the Hum- holdt Park Pavilion. This june the association will end the cele- hration at which time the june class also will he honored. Scholarship Fund Administration Seated: -Iohn E. Klest. l.orraine Mielhara Ces- lci. Thaddeus l.uhc-ra. l y' i ii ii appreciation. The Alumni Association has devoted most of the past year towarc l thc ultimate aim of offering its first scholarship award in june 1946. The realization of this aim came with the an- nouncement of the Mary Frances Barron Scholarship, given in the memory of the late Placement Teacher, lt is an award to which the classes of january and -Iune 1946 are eligihle to apply. Money for the award will he taken from the Scholarship Fund. This Fund consists of donations from community m mhci ' ' urs ln idclition to this 1' e s and appropriations from the Assi.ci.ai.m's treas a dance was planned for the sole purpose of increasing the fund. For the fourth consecutive year the Alumni Cagers roared to an exciting victory over the Varsity All-Stars. The series now stands at six for the Alumni and three for the Varsity. The result of the game was an added compliment Io Miss Zella WC Wfolsan to whom the game had heen dedicated. Miss Wfolsan, Sponsor of the Alumni Association for the past nine years, was honored with a gift of fx X! V lirtation D An important constitution- al amendment was accepted at a General Meeting in Feh' flliily. lt provided that all students whose education at XX'ells High School had heen interrupted hy service in the Aimed Forces are eligihle for mc-mhership in the W'.A,A. jL'ST LIKE OLD TIMES .... THE BOYS ARE BACK success. Social, hecause of the congenial atmosphere attributed to the presence of Alumni re- cently returned from war-torn corners of the world. Financial, hecause the proceeds douhled the Scholarship Fund. A delightful fioor show was arranged by the committee. Peter Martini. an Alumnus, once more favored the audience with his renditions of hit-tunes. A group of Wfell- sites under the direction of Miss Evelyn Zwieflca, dance instructress at Wfells, performed Chopins Fantasia Ballet and the F i i uct. THE DANCE COMMITTEE. Edward Szura.
